I scored 120 points! Well, the second time I scored 5 unbalanced bouquets to see the other ending of the stories :). It's cool to have multiple endings depending on the game!
The stories are fun! I especially liked when the body in the grave started turning over, and also when the girl refused the guy and hit him in the face :D. Really fun :D.
I also liked the menu screen saver where the witch balances a flower on her finger - a nice detail :).
The menu itself is also informative and functional, but I noticed that after the first game in Chrome I was unable to switch menus, and at some point I couldn't even start the game sometimes - a black screen and that's it. Mozilla doesn't seem to have this issue, but I'm not sure, maybe it's related to the storage where you save data as an option, or something else.
The witch has a lot of skills! It was nice to watch her powerful landing, as well as the ability to pass through walls. I'm not sure how I managed to climb walls, but somehow I did it :).
I've been to many places, made the rodent press the button below, pressed the mushroom into the ground at the top, but there were locations where it wasn't there :).
I also really liked how the witch descends down the wall, holding on with her leg - very cool!
Cool graphics and nice music!
It was fun, congratulations!
Thanks for the detailed feedback, I really love hearing all of this!
Except the freezing up bit… I wonder if that’s related to the synthesizer bug we found post-release. Was this happening in the game embedded in the Itch page, or the linked one on aksommerville.com?
I would be happy to hear your feedback on my game too ;).
I played here, on itch.io.
I'm usually not great at platformers, but this one had just the right level of challenge—it’s one of the few that I actually had fun with! Great job. I really and all the areas to explore. 😊
The game is well made! cool cutscenes ,nice visual and sound. Nice work
Played way longer than I expected. I just couldn’t skip those adorable post-stage cutscenes! Amazing work on the game, and the fact that you built it on your own engine? That’s seriously impressive. Major flex! Haha. 🍻
I love that you have a README and License file (main criteria for open source category). I'm enjoying the TODO list and the fact you are ticking them off as you go. Maybe build all the "done" ones into various releases so the README doesn't get too long, or even make it a changelog file. Add some screenshots to your README to make it a little more interesting too 💖.
Wow, this game is huge, and gee can that witch jump! Great work. The sound effects and music fit perfectly, and the art style is great. In future you could probably add some more levels. Well done on a great submission.
A great and fun game!
I really liked the concept of the game, the multiple cinematic scenes, and the classic music and graphics that fit the game perfectly!
I also liked the menu and the multiple player abilities.
I don't think there's anything to criticize.
Well done!
Good luck at Game Jam!
I'd really appreciate it if you could try out my game too, rate it, and share your feedback.
It would mean a lot!
Nice interpretation of the theme! I love the art style and the cut scenes are a lovely touch. Well done!
nice pixel game fun to play!
Your idea is amazing, really nice game!
I really like the cutscenes! Good game
I don’t know how you came up with this concept from the balance theme, but it’s such a nice and creative interpretation! Really good job!
The game is actually really well made, the cut scenes and the back story were really cool. Another thing is the map was really well made but maybe add some difficult that would force players to go all over the map for some secret flowers or something and the customers having different requirements would be really cool or a time system to get them the flowers within a certain period of time. The graphics are really good and enjoyed the music as well. Good entry.
Very fun, got all five and made the perfume!
Solid game! Got to the end. The cut scenes were great, clever to add context and they were funny and sweet. Good job!
This is a really cool game which also looks gorgeous! The cut scenes when you delivered the bouquet are hilarious. I also like the combination of a platformer and the flower theme. The platformer mechanics are also very good including high jumps and wall jumps! To make it a bit more challenging from the beginning, maybe you could add another challenge instead of just going for a high score. For example that customers leave if it takes you too much time to put together the bouquet.
Congratulations to this great entry! Very well done.
Thanks for the review! There actually are two bonus prizes (kind of shoe-horned in at the last minute). One bonus for making 5 valid bouquets without leaving the first screen, and one for doing it without using fastfall, walljump, or teleport.
I like where you’re head’s at, that the different customers ought to introduce unique requirements or bonuses…. will keep that in mind for part 2. ;)
I really like the art style <3
A cute pixel art game I liked the game music and the various game over screens!
Very cute game! I didn't really get how many flowers to be bringing people or why the time mattered, but the movement music sfx and little cutscenes were all very satisfying!
Super cute concept! Loved the graphics and the bouquet delivery animations. Simple, but fun :D
This game had some really nice movement mechanics! I loved the note about the imbalanced bouquet too haha. That being said, I think the theme could have been implemented better, but I did love the flower picking mechanic. I did, unfortunately, find the fetch quest to be a little tedious, but I loved exploring the areas. Your pixel art and sound design are awesome, and I loved how original everything feels. Great work!
